For anyone who needs a striking hero image, magazine cover or moodboard quickly, it is still the first stop.

It has no free tier, no public API, and the Discord-first heritage means workflows can feel quirky for new users. Stable Diffusion forks are catching up on raw quality, but Midjourney's curated aesthetic remains its moat.
